Sausage, Gravy, and the Secret Life of the Hive Mind

Today I made myself sausages, rice, and gravy. You're probably wondering why I'm sharing my lunchtime menu. Well, I've never made this dish before in my life, and it's not something I would've chosen to eat back in South Africa. But here in England, I whipped it up, and it was delicious.

While stirring my homemade gravy (yes, homemade!), I started thinking about how our taste buds adapt to our surroundings and available local produce. This led me to contemplate the concept of the hive mind.

The hive mind is a form of collective behaviour where a group acts as a unified entity without centralized control. In nature, bee and ant colonies exemplify this. No single bee or ant calls the shots, yet the colony operates in complex, organized ways. While humans don't have a literal hive mind, sociologists sometimes use the term loosely to describe phenomena like groupthink or mass behaviour.

This got me thinking about the sociology of group behaviour and its more subtle, energetic aspects. We've seen the power of collective thinking play out in extreme situations, like apartheid in South Africa, where groups were conditioned to hate others. But this concept extends beyond such overt examples. Our thoughts and energy can influence the collective atmosphere in subtler ways, both positive and negative.

When we're constantly fed news or social media content that provokes anger or fear, it's easy to feel discouraged. We might think our good deeds go unnoticed or that our efforts to care for the planet are lost in a sea of negativity. But that's not the whole story.

Each act of kindness, each effort to care for our planet, contributes to a growing undercurrent of positive change. The more we resonate with goodness, kindness, and positivity, the more these qualities ripple out into the collective consciousness.

Throughout history, every era has had its prophets of doom. But, beneath the surface, I see us moving in a more hopeful direction. There's a shift towards a more balanced, compassionate collective energy. It might not make headlines, but it's there, growing steadily. As we focus on this positive change, we become part of a powerful ripple effect. Our individual actions, however small, shape the collective consciousness and nudge society towards a kinder, more aware future.

Keep doing 80 percent good in everything you do. Keep raising the consciousness and the hive mind. That way, not only will I be enjoying sausages and gravy, but we'll all be feeling the positivity from each other.

On another note, I've hit a new milestone in my publishing journey. I'm grappling with formatting for the paperback version of "Healing the Ultra Independent Heart." It's all new to me, so it's a big learning curve, but I'm proud of how far I've come.

I can't wait to share this book with the world. In the meantime, I'm sharing my energy with the hive mind because, after all, we're all in this together. Let's make it the best life journey we can.
