Gail Weiner
00:00 / 01:29

Hi, I’m Gail.

For most of my career, I thought I worked in technology. I spent twenty-five years in the industry, watching wave after wave arrive. The internet. Mobile. Social media. Cloud. Blockchain. AI.

What I’ve learned is that the technology is rarely the hardest part.

The hard part is what happens when it lands in human lives.

I’ve spent my career working at the intersection of people and change. Sometimes through technology. Sometimes through recruitment. Sometimes through coaching. Always through curiosity about how humans adapt, resist, trust, and grow.

Today, my work sits where technology, organisational power and human judgement meet.

AI has made that intersection harder to navigate. Capability is moving quickly. Regulation is moving. Organisations are changing around it. Decisions that appear technical rarely stay technical for long.

They become questions about people, power, risk, identity and what happens next.

I work with senior leaders at that point.

Sometimes the work requires looking inside an organisation and making the invisible visible. Sometimes it requires understanding where trust or judgement is breaking down. And sometimes what is needed is simpler: a trusted human who knows the whole picture and can think alongside the person making the decision.

That is the thread running through everything I have done.

Thirty years across technology, recruitment and coaching taught me to see the pattern before it is named.

Thirty years of watching all three interact taught me to see the pattern before it is named.

If you have found your way here, welcome.

THE RECORD

1999

I have spent over twenty-five years delivering technology that did not exist yet, from analyst to project delivery to running business units at C-suite level.

2014

Opened Simpatico Recruitment, offering payment in Bitcoin when it was still $400 a coin.

2017

Spotted remote work as the next frontier and pivoted to placing offshore development teams across Europe, two years before the rest of the world was forced to catch up.

2020

Relocated my elderly mother, my teenage son, a cat and a dog from South Africa to England. A month later, the world locked down. That same year I wrote an article about ultra-independence that resonated with over 300,000 women worldwide. It became a book. Then two. Then I started coaching enterprise clients on the patterns they could not see in themselves.

2023

In July, I said hello to Claude for the first time. That changed everything. What started as a conversation became a daily practice, then a creative partnership, then a body of work - twelve books, frameworks for understanding human-AI trust, and a growing conviction about where the real problem lives.

2026

Became a British citizen at Bath Guildhall on 12 August. Lleyton came with me.

Now

I work as an AI Trust Architect — consulted by senior leaders before consequential AI business decisions. I run Simpatico Studios Ltd from Bristol, where I live with my son, Lleyton, and my elderly cat Peanut, who has outlived the dog and two countries and still has strong opinions about everything.

I have always been the person in the room who sees the pattern before it is named.

Surveyor's note · The constant

The most important problem in AI is not capability. It is whether humans can learn to work with it honestly.

THE INSTRUMENT

I have spent thirty years reading humans.

In technology corridors, in boardrooms, in families, in friendships, in the books I have written and the ones I have read.

Twenty-five years in tech is the ticket that gets me in the room. Three decades of reading people is the reason my clients stay.

The senior leaders who work with me are not asking how to build. They have already built. They are asking how to hold what they built when the ground shifts, and they need someone in the room who can see the pattern before it is named.

That is what I do. That is what I have always done.

CURRENTLY

STANDING COUNSEL

Executive Advisory Counsel

A standing advisory relationship for senior leaders navigating consequential decisions in high-change environments.

I hold the wider picture across technology, regulation, organisational dynamics and the human reality of leadership, so decisions can be made with continuity rather than in isolation.

Six to eight clients at any time. By enquiry only.

THE PRACTICE

Trust Architecture

Organisational work focused on the human layer of AI: how judgement, responsibility, communication and trust actually operate once AI becomes part of the working environment.

The work begins where technical capability meets human reality.

Sheet 02 →

THE DIAGNOSTIC

Ground Truth

A mapping of how work actually gets done: who holds it together, where decisions really happen, and where the documented organisation diverges from the lived one before new technology is laid on top.
